SHENANDOAH – Presented Wednesday evening at the Chill Out Ice Cream Parlor was a $400 donation to the Shenandoah Valley Mini-Thon program.

The donation is the result of a fundraiser held in conjunction between Chill-Out and SV’s Mini-Thon. Beginning September 7, Chill Out customers were asked if they’d like to donate $1 to the program, which is intended to benefit children and families who have been impacted by childhood cancer.

”It’s our first year doing it, and we’ve done our gold-out game so far,” said organizer Abby Conroy. “We had Chill-Out [conduct the fundraiser], and we’re planning other activities throughout the year, and the Mini-Thon is [on March 23.]”

The fundraiser sold tags for customers to write their names on, and $300-worth of tags were sold, though some chose to donate more than $1, and Chill-Out pitched in as well, according to Conroy.

Present at Wednesday’s presentation were SV Mini-Thon members Conroy, Kaitlyn Hepler, and Gabe Hepler, as well as program advisors Kevin Keating and Anthony Pytko.

The SV Mini-Thon program is organized in conjunction with Penn State and the Four Diamonds organization.
