SHENANDOAH – For some, their high school marching days ended in 2017, for others it was the mid-1970s, but for all, they’ll have the chance to march once again as a Blue Devil in a few weeks.

Today was the first practice for the Shenandoah Valley Alumni Band, which will take the field for its 20th anniversary at the end of this month for Shenandoah’s homecoming game.

Former instrumentalists, percussionists, majorettes, color guard members and honor guard members spend the afternoon practicing music, learning routines, and more.

The alumni members will be supplemented by the current Shenandoah Valley High School band when they perform on September 27.

The band will be directed by Kim Brown, and is being organized by Shaina Graff and Eric James, instrumentalists; Jim Bayliff and Mike Timko, percussion; Norma Davis Barlow, majorettes; Tara Davidson and Kim Major, color guard and honor guard; and Sharlaine Shustack, cheerleaders.
