Another crash stifles traffic at Centre and Gilbert

SHENANDOAH – One person suffered minor lacerations from shattered glass in the most recent crash at Gilbert and West Centre Street Thursday afternoon.

The crash, which occurred at 5:26pm, was captured on a security camera at a North Gilbert Street residence.

A Dodge Nitro was travelling north on South Gilbert Street, stopping at the stop sign at Centre Street. A black SUV passed by, and the Nitro proceeded into the intersection to cross Centre, when it struck a westbound Mitsubishi broadside.

According to borough police at the scene, the occupants of the Nitro were uninjured, as were all but one in the Mitsubishi, who suffered cuts from shattered glass.

The vehicles were towed from the scene by Steve’s Towing, and traffic reopened by 6:00pm.
