Car strikes tree, sign, shuts down Heights Hill

SHENANDOAH – A car is totaled after it struck a tree and a sign on PA Route 924 just short of the Shenandoah borough line on the Heights Hill early Friday morning.

The accident occurred around 12:30am Friday, where responding crews found a Ford Escape sideways in the center of the roadway in the area of the Park Restaurant with heavy damage to the front of the vehicle.

​The vehicle was involved in a single car collision with a tree and an Adopt-A-Highway sign along the northbound lane of Route 924.

No injuries were reported, and the vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

The Heights Hill from Washington Street to Pennsylvania Avenue was shut down until just after 1:00am while crews cleaned up after the accident.

Responding to the scene were crews from the Columbia Fire Company (Rescue 741), Shenandoah Police, and Shenandoah Ambulance.

Recovering the vehicle was Steve’s Towing.
