FRACKVILLE – No injuries were reported after a single vehicle crash at McDonald’s near Frackville, when a Jack Rich fuel truck struck a guiderail and found itself perched over an embankment late Friday.

Firefighters from Frackville, Englewood, and Altamont were called to the McDonald’s location near the former Schuylkill Mall around 10:00pm , first for an investigation after the accident.

Crews feared fuel could leak from the truck if it was moved. A chief arrived on scene, noted no fuel was leaking, though apparatus was requested as a precaution.

Engines from all three companies responded and crews stood by as a crew from Hammer’s Towing, Minersville, worked to recover the truck. A crane had to be used to lift the cab of the truck while a second tow truck pulled the vehicle away from the embankment.

The truck is owned by Jack Rich Inc., Frackville, and the driver was out of the vehicle when crews arrived.

State Troopers from the Frackville barracks were also at the scene.
