SHENANDOAH – Members of Shenandoah Valley’s Drama Club did their part to help get local residents in the Christmas spirit through their performance of a short rendition of “The Grinch” on Friday.

The performance was part of the annual Coal Cracker Christmas event, hosted by Downtown Shenandoah, Inc.

The play began shortly after 5:30, featuring SVDC’s Riley Guers and Hunter Breznik as The Cat in the Hat and the Grinch, concluded with the lighting of a Christmas tree in the Veterans Memorial Garden adjacent to the A.P. Damato American Legion post.

Following the play, attendees could get cookies and hot chocolate from inside the post, or ride a horse-drawn trolley through downtown Shenandoah.

The winners of DSI’s bike raffle were also announced at the event.
