Early morning fire engulfs Pine Street home in Sheppton

SHEPPTON – Shortly after 6:00am, fire crews from across northern Schuylkill County and southern Luzerne County were dispatched to the 100 block of West Pine Street for a fully involved house fire.

Crews arrived to find a trailer home at 119 West Pine engulfed in flames.

A tanker task force was called to the scene, bringing tankers from Harwood, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, and Ringtown, among others.

The trailer was reported to be a total loss.

No injuries were reported, and two were displaced by the early morning fire.

Units responding were from Sheppton-Oneida, Nuremberg-Weston, Hazle Township, Harwood, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, Ringtown, and Shenandoah Ambulance.

Steward’s Store, in Sheppton, provided hot coffee for firefighters, as they endured temperatures below freezing.

Crews from Sheppton-Oneida remained on scene extinguishing hotspots until around 9:00am.
