SHENANDOAH – On Friday night, over a hundred members of the Shenandoah community came out to the borough’s Vine Street Park for a candlelight vigil, honoring a Shenandoah Valley student who passed away earlier this week.

16-year-old Christian Rosario, a junior at SV, passed away after entering a cardiac arrest in the area of Turkey Hill in downtown Shenandoah on Wednesday while posts flooded social media both remembering the teen and expressing shock in his passing.

With temperatures in the single digits, family, friends, and members of both the school and borough communities bundled up and came out to honor Rosario’s memory, as they gathered in a group on the park’s small basketball court, lighting candles, releasing balloons, and consoling each other, some holding up photos with text reading “You will always be in our hearts.”
