Fire damages home on Shenandoah’s east side

SHENANDOAH – Two homes are damaged, and three are displaced after fire broke out in a home on Shenandoah’s east side.

Shortly before 5:00pm on Monday afternoon, fire crews were called to 323 East Lloyd Street in the borough for a working structure fire. Crews arrived to find smoke billowing from the structure, reportedly visible as far away as Lost Creek, as well as heavy fire at the rear of the building.

323 East Lloyd has severe damage to the rear of the property, and an adjoining property has extensive smoke and water damage.

The displaced residents are staying with friends, and a State Police Fire Marshal was on scene investigating the cause of the fire.

Also on scene were crews from Mahanoy City EMS and Shenandoah Ambulance, as well as police officers from Shenandoah and West Mahanoy Township.
