ONEIDA – It took less than half an hour for firefighters from across northern Schuylkill and southern Luzerne Counties to tackle a row home fire in the village of Oneida this afternoon.

Crews were called to a home at 66 3rd Street in Oneida for a house fire just before 6:00pm, finding smoke billowing from the middle home in a triplex upon arrival.

A second alarm was called, and firefighters from Nuremberg-Weston, Sheppton-Oneida, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, Girardville, and Englewood, among others, were brought to the scene.

Within about 20 minutes, the fire was contained, though crews remained on scene for about two hours after.

Assisting fire crews at the scene were state troopers, Shenandoah Police, and Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS.

No word on if anyone was injured in the fire.
