SHENANDOAH – Two local teams renewed a rivalry on the hardwood Thursday night, as Shenandoah Valley clashed with visiting Mahanoy Area.

The game appeared to be a blowout early, with Mahanoy’s defense holding the Blue Devils to only 6 points in the first half as the Bears scored 24.

Shenandoah Valley would battle back in the second half, scoring 17 points in the third quarter, though their efforts would only chip Mahanoy’s lead, with the Bears entering the final quarter with a 15 point lead.
