Colts roll over Devils 39-7

SHENANDOAH – Marian Catholic all but solidified their spot in the District XI A playoffs with a 37-9 rout of Shenandoah Valley.

Marian Catholic sits fourth in the playoff standings with a 3-5 record, while Shenandoah sits fifth and winless. Five teams compete in District XI Class A, and four make playoffs. 

Shenandoah Valley has two games remaining on its schedule, Minersville and Mahanoy Area, while Marian faces Mahanoy and Tamaqua to bookend the 2018 season.

By the end of the third quarter, Marian held a 32-0 lead over the Devils, which would be extended with a run with 11:46 remaining in the game.

Shenandoah, though, refused to be shut out, with Alex Donchak running in a touchdown. A successful PAT gave the Devils 7 points.

From then on, Marian ran out the clock, taking a 39-7 victory to improve to 3-5.
