MAHANOY CITY – The Golden Bears entered Friday night’s game on the District XI Class AA playoff bubble, trailing Palmerton in power rating, which determines  district playoff seeds, but not in record.

Tonight, Mahanoy Area earned another victory, blanking Panther Valley 35-0 on homecoming night, improving to 4-4 on the season. The Blue Bombers of Palmerton sit #4 and play tomorrow, looking to improve to 3-5 against Wilson Area in an afternoon game. Currently, the Blue Bombers would make the AA field on account of a .001 advantage in power rating over Mahanoy Area..

With two weeks left to play, the Golden Bears have Marian and Shenandoah Valley left as they continue to contend for a playoff spot in AA.
