MAHANOY CITY – The Borough of Mahanoy City approved the hiring of a part-time police chief 4-1 at their March council meeting Tuesday, and he’s no stranger to the post.

Mark Wiekrykas was hired to the post at a rate of $26 an hour. He had previously served as borough police chief from 1999 to 2013, when he retired.
