Mahanoy City Police arrest two on drug charges

MAHANOY CITY – Two are in Schuylkill County Prison on drug charges after an incident in the 700 block of Mahanoy City’s West Centre Street.

Mahanoy City Police arrested Alexander Cann, 25, of Hazle Township, Luzerne County, and Charles Valerio, 19, of Brooklyn, New York, following the incident.

Cann is charged with posession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and Driving under the influence, while Valerio faces charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin & marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cann was committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $40,000 straight cash bail, while Valerio was unable to post $50,000 straight cash bail.
