Missing Frackville man found dead in Englewood

ENGLEWOOD – The body of an elderly Frackville man reported missing in February has been found near the village of Englewood in Butler Township.

Charles Walker, 74, of Frackville was pronounced dead at the scene after his body was discovered in a wetland  near the Frackville Sewage Treatment Facility in Butler Township by a Frackville Area Municipal Authority worker. around 1:30pm Wednesday afternoon.

A dive team from Mahanoy City’s West End Fire Company assisted in the recovery.

According to Sentinel archives, Walker was reported missing on February 26, having last been seen around February 15, according to Frackville Police.

Frackville Police said at that time that Walker had lived alone, was possibly suffering from early stages of dementia.

According to authorities, no foul play is suspected.
