Around 4:20pm, Mahanoy City fire crews were dispatched to 508 West Spruce Street for a house fire.

Crews arrived to find smoke showing from the structure, and a working structure fire was confirmed.

At 4:28pm, a tanker task force was dispatched, bringing fire crews from Hometown, Ryan Township, Gordon, Girardville, Sheppton, Shenandoah, and Delano to the scene.

At 4:41pm, a second alarm was struck, bringing Shenandoah’s Engine 742 and Ladder 745, Ryan Township’s engine, Altamont fire, McAdoo’s Ladder, and Tamaqua’s Rescue to the scene, along with Frackville’s ladder which was already on scene.

Within 20 minutes of arrival, the fire was brought under control.
