NUREMBERG – The Nuremberg Community Players will be holding open auditions for adults ages 13 and up for their upcoming production, “Little Women”, by Louisa May Alcott, adapted by Scott Davidson.

Auditions will be held at the home of the Nuremberg Community Players, 283 Hazle Street, Nuremberg, on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, March 3rd, 4th, and 5th at 6pm.  Shows will be presented on May 3rd-5th.

Share this timeless and enduring classic about the March sisters’ journey from childhood to maturity during the American Civil War.  Audiences of all generations will enjoy acquainting — or reacquainting — themselves with the sisters:  Meg, the eldest; Jo, the high-spirited tomboy; Amy, the self-centered beauty; and gentle Beth, as well as their beloved Marmee and Father.  Together the March family learns to endure both good times and bad as they share the joys and pains of growing up, including several monumental milestones.  Interlaced with warmth, family loyalty, and traditional values, all these important events provide us with a better understanding of our own lives.  Penned by Louisa May Alcott 140 years ago, this much-loved classic tale’s message is still relevant for audiences today.

The cast is comprised of the following characters (actors only need to appear the ages below):
MEG:  eldest March daughter; age 16 at the beginning of the play
JOSEPHINE (“JO”):  second eldest; age 15
BETH – third daughter; age 13
AMY – youngest; age 12
HANNAH – the March’s maid
MARMEE – mother of the March girls
AUNT MARCH – the March girls’ great aunt (Mr. March’s aunt)
THEODORE LAWRENCE (aka “Laurie” or “Teddy”) – neighbor of the March’s
JOHN BROOKE – Laurie’s tutor
MR. MARCH – father of the March girls

Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script.  Anyone interested in auditioning for the show or anyone willing to help with the production in any way is encouraged to attend.  Please contact the director, Lucille, at 570-325-4368 or at [email protected] with any questions or for any additional information.
