One flown after Barry Township vehicle accident

BEURYS LAKE – A man was seriously injured after a vehicle accident near Beurys Lake in Barry Township Sunday evening.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was flown via air medical from the Schuylkill County Airport after rolling his Chevrolet Corvette on Sunbury Road, Route 901, near Derr Road.

Fire crews from Gordon, Lavelle, and Ashland were dispatched around 10:00pm for the accident, and were on scene for over an hour as the scene was cleared.

The man, described as being in his 60s and seriously injured, was transported via Hegins Ambulance.

Traffic along 901 was down to one lane for a time.

Investigating the incident are state troopers from PSP Schuylkill Haven, and assisting in recovering and removing the vehicle was Hammer’s Towing, of Minersville.
