NORTH UNION TWP. – A man was flown with serious injuries after a motorcycle crash Saturday evening.

According to State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 7:40pm as Brian Leonard, 50, of Zion Grove, was travelling westbound on Millers Road on a 2011 Harley Davidson, approaching a left turn.

Leonard missed the left, straying off the right side of the roadway, according to troopers.

The bike traveled across the driveway of 365 Millers Road, striking a boulder next to it and flipping, sending Leonard 40 feet into the air, landing on the home’s lawn.

Leonard was knocked unconscious by the impact, and suffered substantial head injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

An ambulance from American Patient Transport Systems transported Leonard to an awaiting MedEvac helicopter in Nuremberg, which subsequently transported him to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Montour County.

Assisting at the scene were fire crews from Nuremberg-Weston.
