SHENANDOAH - A passenger was injured after a vehicle struck a parked truck and a utility pole on the west end Sunday afternoon.
According to Shenandoah Police, around 4:00pm, a Chevrolet Equinox was travelling northbound on South Gilbert Street when the vehicles brakes failed.
To avoid travelling into the West Centre Street intersection, police said, the driver struck a parked GMC truck and a utility pole at the intersection of South Gilbert and West New York.
A passenger was injured, and transported via Shenandoah Ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill East in Pottsville.
No other injuries were reported.
South Gilbert Street from New York to Oak was closed for half an hour while the vehicle was removed.
