One injured in West Mahanoy rollover

WEST MAHANOY TWP. – One person was injured after rolling their vehicle at the North Schuylkill Transfer Station near Turkey Run Tuesday afternoon.

According to West Mahanoy Township Police, just before 1:30pm, a Honda CR-V was travelling down the access road to the transfer station, which was muddy and slushy, when the vehicle began to slide.

The SUV continued to slide until it struck a berm and rolled.

Two occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the crash, and one suffered injuries. They were treated at the scene by Shenandoah Ambulance and taken to a Pottsville hospital.

Fire crews from Shenandoah’s Columbia, Rescue Hook & Ladder, and Polish American fire companies responded along with William Penn out of West Mahanoy Township. 

Police officers from Shenandoah and West Mahanoy Township responded as well.

The vehicle was recovered by Steve’s Towing, Shenandoah.
