RINGTOWN – Just like many other local communities, Ringtown held a Memorial Day parade this morning, traveling through the borough from Jeld-Wen to the Little League field.

Awaiting the parade’s start, a pair of children — Anna Gajkowski, 3, Catawissa, Izzy Gajkowski, 11, Danville, and Nathan Gajkowski, 5, Catawissa — donned in red, white, and blue attire, waved small American flags outside St. John’s Lutheran Church on Main Street.

Ringtown’s parade consisted of a variety of community organizations from the valley. The parade was led by the Ringtown and Union Township Police Departments, followed by a BSA pack and color guard, and a tractor-drawn float with American Legion members. Other participating groups included the Ringtown Little League, Ringtown Valley Fire Company, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shenandoah Ambulance, and Sheppton-Oneida Fire Company, among others.
