UPDATE: Mahanoy City Police seek public's assistance identifying person of interest in Friday stabbing

UPDATE 2:00am - From MCPD - The Mahanoy City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in attempting to identify the above person of interest, in relation to the investigation into the reported stabbing that occurred in the 500 block of East Mahanoy Street. This is an active investigation, and the Officers of the Mahanoy City Police Department are continuing to pursue all leads. Anyone with information regarding this incident is once again requested to call 911, or to send information to the new Mahanoy City Police tip line at firstname.lastname@example.org. All calls will be kept in confidence.
MAHANOY CITY - Borough police are investigating a stabbing after a male victim was brought to a Pottsville Hospital via a personal vehicle around 7:42pm, with preliminary information indicating he'd apparently been stabbed, in Mahanoy City.
According to Mahanoy City Police, officers searched for where it had occurred, with evidence noting an assault occurred in the 500 block of East Mahanoy Street.
As of the 10:29pm press release from MCPD, the victim is receiving emergency medical treatment.
Borough police were assisted at the scene by Mahanoy City Fire Police and Mahanoy Township police.
An active investigation is ongoing, and, according to Chief Kenneth Zipovsky "officers of the Mahanoy City Police Department are vigorously pursuing all leads."
"Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to call 911, or to send information to the new Mahanoy City Police tip line at email@example.com. All information will be kept in confidence," Zipovsky said in a release.
