1/20/15, 12:54p, FRACKVILLE, Penna. - Eighteen contestants, from ages 9 to 15, performed for a crowd of over 120 people yesterday at Frackville's Schuylkill Mall to kick off the 8th edition of Schuylkill County Junior Idol. Among the contestants were a few from our area, including Jacqueline Bubnis, 13, from Shenandoah, Raven Wesley, 14, from Frackville, and Faith Simpson, 9, from Gilberton, all of whom were interviewed by the Republican-Herald. The field of 18 who performed yesterday will be narrowed down to 10 at 3:00p today for January 26th's quarterfinal. Semifinals will be on February 2nd, with an overall winner announced on February 9th. The winner of the competition wins a $500 Mall Shopping Spree, a $100 gift certificate courtesy of the Bon-Ton, a professional photo shoot courtesy of Michael’s Photography, Frackville, a gift courtesy of Totally Twisted Pretzel and a chance to perform at the Schuylkill County Fair in August.
