Shenandoah Area ice cream shops offer free sundaes to mothers on Mother’s Day

SHENANDOAH – Two Shenandoah Area ice cream shops gave out free sundaes to area mothers in celebration of Mother’s Day.
The Valley Tastee Freeze in West Mahanoy Township near Shenandoah Heights, and Chill Out Ice Cream Parlor in Mahanoy Township near Shenandoah, both on PA Route 924, offered similar promotions Sunday.
“It is with great pleasure we would like to treat you all to a FREE Regular Soft Serve Sundae on Mother’s Day,” wrote Chill Out in a Facebook post.
All but two tables inside Chill Out were filled around 5:00pm Sunday as families took advantage of the offer, while few parking spaces were available at the Tastee Freeze an hour prior.
Both establishments had specific lists of sundaes eligible for the offer.
