Shenandoah man killed, struck by vehicle near Saint Clair

EAST NORWEGIAN TWP.  – A Shenandoah man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in East Norwegian Township, near Saint Clair Friday night.

According to reports, Eddie Whalen, 52, of Shenandoah, was walking along Route 61 near Pride Homes when he was struck by the vehicle around 11:00pm.

Whalen was pronounced dead by a Schuylkill County deputy coronorer at a local emergency room, suffering from blunt force traumatic injuries to the head.

Whalen was walking back to Shenandoah after a trip to a Pottsville emergency room for an unknown reason.
