RAVEN RUN – At a meeting held last week, the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Shenandoah accepted the resignation of manager Mary Lou Jaskierski.

Jaskierski had been the manager of the authority since 2008, and had been an employee of the authority for 34 years.

The authority’s board accepted the resignation unanimously at their Raven Run headquarters on Thursday, October 5.

Present were chairwoman Donna Gawrylik, Vice Chairman Joe Anczarski and authority member Ray Stasulli. Absent were authority members Leo Pietkiewicz and Gary Wood.

Jaskierski’s resignation read: “I am writing this letter to notify you that I am resigning from my position as manager with the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Shenandoah. This was a very difficult decision to make but I have accepted a position with another company. I started here 34 years ago as a clerk, was promoted to chief clerk and then accepted the position as manager almost 10 years ago. Being manager, as you can imagine, is not an easy position. But I can honestly say I always had the best interest of the authority and the employees in all of my decisions. I have experienced many hurdles and obstacles but somehow always got through them. So with that being said, I am asking the board if my effective date can be Nov. 10, 2017, and my last day of work will be Oct. 20, 2017.”

According to the authority, the future of the position is being discussed, and the position will be advertised at a later date.
