Shenandoah woman taken to hospital from crash near Sheppton

SHEPPTON – A Shenandoah woman was taken to a Hazleton hospital for treatment of a “possible injury” after a Monday afternoon accident, according to the State Police at Frackville.

The accident occurred around 3:40pm on Centre Street (PA-924) south of Green Mountain Road in East Union Township.

According to troopers, Sarah Butler, 36, was travelling northbound when her 2002 Ford Explorer crossed the center line, traveled through the southbound lane, through the west berm, and struck an embankment.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, and Butler was transported by a local ambulance service to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton for treatment of what was listed as a “possible injury.” Butler was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
