State Police investigate hit-and-run accident in Gordon

GORDON – State Police at Frackville are investigating a hit-and-run accident in Gordon Thursday evening which was captured on a home security camera

According to troopers, a 2003-2008 Ford F150 was travelling southbound on Hobart Street in the borough around 7:00pm when the driver, allegedly on a “handheld texting device” and not paying attention to the road, struck a parked 2016 Mazda CX9 in the 600 block.

The right front corner of the pickup struck the left side of the Mazda, and the driver fled the scene southbound.

The Mazda owner’s security camera caught the incident, and the black-and-white video showed the driver’s face lit up by a texting device, though it did not show adequate detail, according to state police.

The Mazda was damaged from the left rear wheel area to the to the front door and mirror.
