State Police seize $72,000 in meth and heroin following South Schuylkill traffic stop; Wyomissing man charged

WEST BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP – State Police seized $72,000 worth of meth and heroin following a traffic stop and a search of a Berks County home on Tuesday.

According to State Police, troopers, assisted by the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office drug task force, stopped a 2014 Ford Explorer in West Brunswick Township, acting upon information received.

Police established probable cause to search the vehicle, and seized the following, among other items: 

  • One and one half pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $68,100.00
  • Approximately ten grams (10 g) of heroin with an estimated street value of $3,000.00
  • Two hundred forty dollars ($240.00) of United States Currency.

As a result of the seizure, police executed a court-authorized search warrant at a home in Wyomissing, Berks County. Involved agencies included Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office, Drug Task Force, Pennsylvania State Police, Troop L—Reading Vice/Narcotics Unit and Berks County District Attorney’s Office.

At the home, police seized the following, among other items:​

  • Approximately twenty grams (20 g) of heroin with an estimated street value of $6,000.00
  • Fifty-six (56) suspected Xanax pills
  • Eighty (80) suspected Oxycodone pills
  • One hundred twenty-nine (129) suspected Klonopin pills
  • $17,530 of United States Currency
  • Four (4) rifles, two (2) of which contained obliterated serial numbers
  • One (1) revolver

Following the searches, police charged Cristian Maracine, 38, of Wyomissing, with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act.

According to police, Maracine will be charged in the near future in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, also with violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act.
