Tovar named SV Student of the Month for February

SHENANDOAH – The Shenandoah Valley School District has announced the district’s Shenandoah Rotary Club Student of the Month for February.

Angelina Tovar, Shenandoah, daughter of April Ann Tovar, received the award.

Tovar is highly active in the regional and school communities, helping with a church camp, the American Red Cross Blood Drive, DSI Golf Tournament, Pierogi Drop, Hertiage Day, Kielbasi Fest, Sesquicentennial, local church’s free meals and nursing home ministry, parades, among others.

At SV, Tovar serves as Vice President of the marching band and stage manager with Shenandoah Valley Drama Club, and participates in Yearbook, the Torch school newspaper, National Honor Society, Float committee, SVSD Mini-THON, and morning announcements.

Regarding her personal interests, Tovar said “I love music, I’ve been playing for six years now. I am in the percussion section, my favorite is the marimba. I enjoy being in the drama club because there are so many talented people. The final product of a show is the best part, all the hard work we do turns out to be amazing.”

Regarding her future plans, Tovar added, “I plan on attending college to major in Criminal Justice. I hope to work in the law field or in corrections.”
