Two charged for pulling fire box alarm in Shenandoah

SHENANDOAH – Two people are facing charges after pulling a fire box alarm in Shenandoah last night.

Box 2-3, Main and Oak Streets, sounded a little after 1:00am, and shortly after, police notified the communications center the box alarm was false, and fire crews were subsequently notified.

Borough police said patrol officers who arrived at the box alarm said they were notified by a volunteer hanging the borough’s Christmas decorations that two males with black jackets pulled the alarm and fled towards West Centre Street.

Officers found the pair, later identified as Rafael A. Torres, 31, and Angel Torres, 36, both of Shenandoah, at West Centre and Jardin Streets, out of breathe. 

he volunteer identified the two as who pulled the box, and both are facing charges of false alarms, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness. 

Angel Torres is also facing a resisting arrest charge.
