LAUSANNE TOWNSHIP, Carbon County – A Weatherly man is facing charges for a domestic dispute, in which troopers say he threatened a woman with a knife, then destroyed items in the residence.

According to State Police at Hazleton, troopers were called to a home at 2487 Buck Mountain Road around 1:00pm on Monday, January 21 for reports of an inactive domestic dispute.

Troopers said a male, Phillip Mumie, 29, engaged in a physical altercation with a 32-year-old woman at the residence. Mumie picked up a knife, threatened the woman, who then fled.

Mumie then destroyed several items in the residence, including a black table and a picture frame.

As Mumie left, the woman returned and punched him in the back of the head with a closed fist.

Mumie faces charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Joseph Homanko and lodged in the Carbon County Prison on $25,000 straight bail.
