WNEP-TV’s Go Joe 20 to traverse Upper Schuylkill, stop in Shenandoah

SHENANDOAH – WNEP-TV’s Go Joe 20 is set to traverse northern Schuylkill County this year, and the annual bike ride fundraiser will stop in Shenandoah for the first time since 2006.

The annual event, in which WNEP-TV meteorologist Joe Snedeker tackles a long-distance multi-day bike ride, raises funds for St. Joseph’s Center in Scranton. The event begins on Monday, July 24, and runs until Saturday, July 29, when Snedeker arrives in Scranton at the St. Joseph’s Center Festival.

This year, Snedeker will travel through the majority of The Shenandoah Sentinel’s coverage area on Friday, July 28, traveling from Mount Carmel through Ashland,  Girardville, Lost Creek, William Penn, to a stop in Shenandoah.

“At Shenandoah, we’ll stop, smile and down a pierogi or two, then continue out to Mahanoy City” WNEP’s website reads.

From Mahanoy City, Snedeker will bike up PA Route 339 north to Brandonville, and then via PA-924 to Sheppton, on his way out of The Sentinel’s coverage area to West Hazleton and Conyngham, according to WNEP.com.
