GIRARDVILLE – The unofficial election results with write-in votes tallied have been released, and it appears two write-in candidates have surpassed Girardville’s incumbent council president and acting mayor.

Three seats were up for election on Girardville Borough Council, and only incumbent council president Rob Krick and fellow incumbent Charles Marquardt were on the ballot.

In the unofficial results posted to the county website on election night, Krick and Marquardt were the top two vote-getters with 102 and 214 apiece, with 414 write-ins tallied though not specifically listed.

The write-in votes as listed in the unofficial results released by the Schuylkill County Election Bureau this week, though, show two write-in candidates — Ed Burns and Brian Dempsey — ahead of Krick, with 208 and 185 votes apiece.

Krick currently serves as the council president and acting mayor.
